Military strikes in the Lake Chad axis in Borno State have resulted in the deaths of at least 21 ISWAP/Boko Haram terrorists.
According to a PRNigeria report, the Nigerian Air Force’s (NAF) two rotary and fixed-wing fighter helicopters dispatched the insurgents on Tuesday.
While verifying the NAF jets’ strike on the terrorists, a military intelligence source also revealed that the insurgents’ lairs were also destroyed during their most recent air interdiction mission, which was carried out at Tumbun Jaki and Tumbun Murhu.
In reaction to alleged strikes on troop sites in Damasak and Mallam Fatori, he said:

The insurgents were observed running away and scrambling for cover as their enclaves were attacked in quick succession and their logistical depot was engulfed in flames during a well-coordinated air raid by the Nigerian Air Force employing both fixed and rotary wing aircraft.

Some of the ISWAP Boko Haram fighters who managed to escape the bomb attacks to hide under thick vegetation were subsequently acquired and engaged with bombs and rockets. Information received from ground operatives indicates that over 21 insurgents were killed in the air strike.
“The Air Component in synergy with other sister Services will continue to sustain the air strikes against remnants of terrorists to deny them freedom of action and attacks on innocent citizens, especially during the rainy season”.
