Why will there be a Youth Leadership Debate 2022 Competition?
Through cutting-edge research and creative initiatives, institutions of higher learning play a pivotal role in addressing the many economic difficulties that the country faces.
Therefore, colleges should act as a focal point where young people can receive comprehensive and strong assistance, participate in intellectual discussions with national significance, and be given the tools they need to address socioeconomic problems.
Therefore, the purpose of the Youth Leadership Debates competition is to give selected young people in tertiary institutions the tools they need to be active citizens by helping them develop their capacity to critically evaluate information, advocate from a position of knowledge, and collectively shape their vision for Nigeria.
Through an online campaign and campus tour, the programme will involve students at the university and tertiary levels from all six of Nigeria’s geopolitical zones. This will encourage policy discussions about important socioeconomic issues and encourage active youth participation in electoral and decision-making processes, especially in light of the 2023 general elections.
The discussions will revolve around the topic “#TheNigeriaWeWant.”
