BREAKING: About 200 Islamiyya Students Kidnapped in Niger State.

A resident of Tegina in Rafi Local Government Area of Niger State, identified as Zayyad Mohammed confirmed to Channels Television via telephone that Not fewer than 200 students of an Islamiyya (Islamic Formal School) have been abducted.

At around 4:30pm on Sunday, Gunmen injured one person and shot another to dead while carrying out the kidnapping operation.

According to Zayyad, the Islamiyya where the incident took placed was
named Salihu Tanko Islamic School and was build by a retired immigration
officer.

According to the sources, the Islamiyya school is not
the usual Tsangaya boarding Islamic school but a conventional one where
students come to the school on daily basis for the purpose of acquiring a
formal Islamic education.

Details of the incident are still
sketchy and at the time of this report, the police didn’t make any
comments in respect to the kidnapping incident.
