the Minister of Police Affairs, Muhammad Dingyadi, made the announcement at the presidential villa in Abuja.
President Muhammadu Buhari has approved the appointment of Usman Alkali Baba, the Deputy Inspector General of Police, as acting Inspector General of Police.
Mr Baba takes over from Mohammed Adamu, whose term was recently extended.
On Tuesday, the Minister of Police Affairs, Muhammad Dingyadi, made the announcement at the presidential villa in Abuja.
