Mrs. Obioma, who was sobbing uncontrollably, said her husband, NECO Registrar Godswill Obioma, had just returned to Minna from a trip to Abuja when armed men waiting in his complex came on him and strangled him.
The NECO Registrar Godswill Obioma has been battling attempts to remove him from his position as the head of NECO, a prestigious examination agency sponsored by the Nigerian government.
On May 14, 2020, the 67-year-old Obioma was appointed NECO Registrar for the first time. He was from Abia, in the Igbo-dominated South-East area of Nigeria.
Meanwhile, the assassination of NECO Registrar Godswill Obioma came just a day after Ahmed Gulak, a key APC leader, was shot dead in Owerri, causing widespread dread of danger.
