DIG Usman Baba has been appointed as the acting Inspector-General of Police after being decorated (IGP).
Vice President Yemi Osinbajo gave a speech at the Presidential Villa on Wednesday, which was followed by a decoration ceremony.
Prior to his promotion, Alkali served as a Deputy Inspector-General of Police.
On Tuesday, Mohammad Dingyadi, the Minister of Police Affairs, declared that Alkali would succeed Mohammed Adamu.
