COAS Charges Combat Support Arms to Be Resolute In Defence Of Nigeria

The Combat Support Arms of the Nigerian Army (NA) have been tasked with completing their assigned missions in “Defence Of Nigeria” by the Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lt Gen Faruk Yahaya.
The COAS announced this recently at the Command Officers Mess 1, Asokoro Abuja when he opened the Combat Support Arms Training (COSAT) Week 2022. General Yahaya said that in the pursuit of world peace and national security, training is a means of learning and re-strategizing for value addition.
He mentioned how the Support Arms had developed their capabilities over time and continued to be innovative in their various missions.
He explained that the purpose of the Training Week’s theme, “Building Competencies in Combat Support Arms towards Optimizing the Utility of Indigenous Technology in Support of NA Contemporary Operations,” is to provide a forum for members of the NA’s Combat Support Arms (CSA) to exchange ideas and challenge their minds in order to improve the operational effectiveness of the NA.
The Special Guest of Honor, Mallam Muhammad Musa Bello, the Honorable Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, thanked the NA for having the Combat Support Training Week in the Federal Capital Territory during his remarks. He exhorted the attendees to use the training week to provide workable answers to the nation’s security concerns.
The Combat Support Arms Training Week is an annual event, according to Maj Gen Ibrahim Salihu, Chief of Military Intelligence (CMI), which provides the platform for personnel of the support arms to constructively engage, share ideas and experiences, and improve NA’s operational efficiency in addressing defence and security issues.
The three-day event included interactive sessions where significant decisions were made as well as presentations from all of the soldiers. The training week began on Monday, June 21, and was completed on Thursday, June 23, 2022.
