Charges Police and other Law Enforcement Agencies to be professional
Two weeks after the community policing sensitization awareness campaign was flagged up by the Adamawa state Police command, the Commissioner of police *CP SK Akande *on the 15/06/2022 visited Gombi and Song Local Government areas and interacted with the Council Chairmen, Community leaders, Stakeholders of farmers/ Herders, Vigilantes/ Hunters among others on the need to key into Community policing in order to sustain the already existing peace in those areas and equally advice against actions and utterances that could be inimical to peace.
Similarly, the CP has charged all Police Officers and other law enforcement agents to work in synergy and act in accordance with the Standard Operational Rules (SOR) of the force and other extant laws guiding their overall conduct . He further warns that any police Officer found acting contrary to their oaths of office or behaving in a way and manner prejudicial to discipline will be strictly dealt with and personally held liable .
The Gombi and Song council Chairmen who were represented by their deputies Hon. Mark Ishaya and Hon. Simon Audu. in their separate remarks commended the Commissioner of police, for his laudable initiatives in engaging the communities into Policing, promised to put all hands on desk to ensure reign of peace.
The District heads of Gombi and Song Alhaji Usman Fada and Alhaji Ahmadu Saidu keyed into the CP’s initiative to preventing all forms of conflict, equally thanked the Commissioner of Police for his laudable initiative.
The Commissioner of Police was accompanied by senior police officers of the command and Adamawa state chairman PCRC, Prince Olu Adegoke.
