Deakin Scholarship for Excellence 2022 Application Guide

The Deakin Scholarship for Excellence is now accepting applications from students who qualify. It is a fully-funded scholarship offered by Deakin University to all students.
About the Scholarship
This scholarship is open to students at the undergraduate level as well as the postgraduate level, and it is meant for those students who have shown great promise in either their academic or professional endeavors.
Either having exceptional academic achievement or succeeding in extracurricular activities, such as sports, the arts, community service, or leadership, is the key to successfully accomplishing one’s goals. This is the case regardless of whatever path one chooses.
Benefits of Deakin Excellence Scholarship
The scholarship is awarded for the duration of the course at full-time status. Undergraduate and graduate students have different study load regulations.
Undergraduate studies:
You may elect to receive $5000 per year ($625 per credit point) in cash or as student contributions (tuition fees) – the option is yours.
Postgraduate studies:
$12,500 per credit point per year ($10,000 per year) paid as cash or applied to student contributions (tuition fees) – your choice!
Deakin Scholarship for Excellence Requirements
Before submitting an application, prospective candidates must ensure they satisfy all requirements.
To be eligible, you must be:
A citizen of Australia or New Zealand, a permanent resident of Australia, or the holder of a permanent humanitarian visa for Australia.
Beginning or already enrolled in a bachelor’s or honors degree program at a Commonwealth-supported place (CSP) or a postgraduate by coursework degree program (CSP or full fee).
Initiated enrollment at Deakin University in the first trimester of 2023.
Bachelor and honors students enrolled full time, barring extraordinary circumstances, or postgraduate students enrolled in a minimum of two credit points per trimester.
Able to exhibit achievement in:
- A minimum ATAR of 85.
- At least an 80 Weighted Average Mark (WAM)/Grade Point Average (GPA) in previous postsecondary education.
- Leadership aptitude.
- Superior athletic performance.
- Community involvement.
- Volunteer efforts.
- The Creative Arts.
- Any other accomplishment.
