Applications for the Emory University Undergraduate Scholarships are now being accepted from eligible candidates. It is a fully financed scholarship available to all Emory University-sponsored students.
About the Scholarship
The first-year class at Emory University will be comprised of bright students from all over the world. Emory University provides need-based financial aid awards to a chosen group of international students each year in accordance with this concept. Additionally, the Emory University Scholars Program encourages applicants from abroad to submit an application for merit-based scholarships (November 15 deadline).
International students are welcome at Emory University. More than 110 different countries’ worth of international students contribute to the diversity of languages, cultures, and heritages on our campuses. International students made up roughly 16% of the incoming Emory College cohort and 19% of the incoming Oxford College class this past year.
Benefits of Emory University Undergraduate Scholarship
- Emory / Oxford financial aid recipients who are international students must make financial arrangements to cover their educational costs. For instance, students will be responsible for paying their own airfare from their home country to the United States.
- Emory University cannot be held accountable for monetary changes such as exchange rate fluctuations, nor can it make up for missed financial aid that a student might have anticipated receiving from parents, sponsors, or government and corporate awards.
- Emory University Undergraduate Scholarship Requirements
- All students, regardless of nationality, are eligible for the scholarship programs.
- High school counselor nomination is not required for applicants to be considered.
- Students must apply for one of Emory University’s three admissions periods.
Selection Process for Emory University Undergraduate Scholarship
- The selection process for merit-based scholar programs is managed by the Office of Admission in collaboration with distinguished professors.
- Each year, between 8,000 and 10,000 students apply to be Scholars. 175–200 students are chosen as Scholar Finalists from this pool.
- Finalists are required to attend a springtime on-campus Scholars Finalists Visit. Finalists are transported to campus at no cost to students.
- The tour spans multiple days and includes activities and interviews geared to familiarize finalists with Emory University and the unique opportunities available to them here.
- Applicants who are not chosen as finalists for a program are nonetheless thoroughly evaluated for admission according to their chosen application strategy and are automatically considered for additional merit-based scholarships of lesser value.
- The Scholar selection process is entirely distinct from the financial aid application procedure. When a student is eligible for both merit scholarships and financial help, merit scholarships are provided prior to financial aid.
- Students who have applied for financial aid may be eligible for need-based grants and loans if they continue to demonstrate financial need after receiving a merit scholarship.
The deadline for applications is November 15, 2022.
