#Euro2021: Denmark vs. Finland suspended temporarily after Christian Eriksen collapses on the field

Eriksen, Denmark’s standout midfielder, dropped to the ground immediately before halftime after taking a touch on a throw-in at Parken Stadium in Copenhagen, Denmark.

After his teammates urgently waved for aid, the team medical personnel rushed to treat the playmaker. He did not make touch with any opposing players before collapsing.

While the doctors cared for Eriksen for more than ten minutes, his Denmark teammates created a circle around him to prevent cameras from filming the sight. The medical intervention looked to entail chest compressions, based on the available footage. Eriksen was aware when he was stretchered from the field, according to a subsequent photograph provided to Getty Images.

The player was then moved to a local hospital and stabilized, according to UEFA.

with both teams and match officials and further information will be
communicated at 19:45 CET.

The player has been transferred to the hospital and has been stabilised.

Following the announcement of Eriksen’s condition, UEFA declared that the Denmark-Finland match will continue at 2:30 p.m. ET, ‘following the request of both teams’ players.’

At the time of the incident in the 43rd minute, the score was 0-0, and the remaining minutes of the first half was played. Finland went on to win the match by a score of 1-0.

Following the request made by players of both
teams, UEFA has agreed to restart the match between Denmark and Finland
tonight at 20:30 CET (TBC).

The last four minutes of the first half will be played, there will then
be a 5-minute half-time break followed by the second half.

Throughout the event, players on the field and supporters in the seats were upset, with spectators attempting to gather in applause in support of the player, only for it to fade as the anxiety intensified.
