Ex-Governor Resigns From APC

Air Vice Marshal Frank Ajobena (rtd), the first military administrator of Abia State and a senior member of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Delta State, has left the political party.
Ajobena left the APC because Bola Tinubu, the party’s presidential nominee, decided to run on a Muslim-Muslim ticket.
The Muslim-Muslim party ticket, according to the APC National Caucus member, has “the highest level of insensitivity to the Christian faith in the country.”
Ajobena claimed Tinubu disrespected the nation’s Christians in a statement on Tuesday.
He emphasized that Tinubu’s behaviour demonstrated how easily APC members might be bribed with cash.
Part of the declaration states, “Tinubu is not my opponent, and I am not against him. Let’s call a spade a spade, though. Even if I like the APC, it is not in my character to be a double agent. I am not acting; the correct thing to do should be done.
“The decision could be described as one that portrays arrogance and total disrespect to us, Christians, in the APC.
“Such an action is a minus to our democratic system.
“A man must stand for something, else will fall for anything; hence, I am quitting”.
Kashim Shettima, the former governor of Borno State, has been named Tinubu’s running mate over the weekend.
This came about after his acting replacement, Kabiru Masari, quit.
