Fayemi Speaks Out on Stepping Down for VP Osinbajo

Finally, an APC aspirant, Kayode Fayemi speaks out about standing aside for Vice President Yemi Osinbajo.
Kayode Fayemi, a presidential candidate for the All Progressives Congress (APC) for 2023, denied a rumor on Friday, June 3, that he was thinking about giving up his spot for Vice President Yemi Osinbajo.
In a statement available to theGazetteNGR, the governor of Ekiti state and one of the leading presidential candidates for 2023, stated that he is still running.
According to reports on the internet, Governor Fayemi and four other governors met with Osinbajo behind closed doors.
According to the story, the former was persuaded to drop his presidential campaign.
In response to the allegations, Femi Ige, a spokeswoman for the Presidential Campaign Organization of Dr. Kayode Fayemi, said the contender is in a good position.
Ige also made sure that Fayemi had the support of serious APC players before the presidential primary election to win the party’s nomination.
Ige, who described the report as “complete nonsense,” said no discussion between the Fayemi camp and any other aspirant took place to decide who would step down for the other.
His wordss;
“We are undoubtedly among the leading aspirants for the position and one to watch in the race. Our candidate has deep trust and respect among political leaders in the party and also from colleague Governors who form a critical mass in the decision-making process.”
