FG to launch a disaster risk awareness program

The federal government has announced that it will start a campaign to tell people about “disaster risk;” the dangers of illegal oil bunkering and how to avoid it.
In an Abuja statement on Friday, Ms. Nneka Anibeze, the Special Assistant on Media to the Minister of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management, and Social Development, said as much.
These facts came to light when a federal government delegation came to Imo state in order to mourn with the government after an explosion in a forest near Ohaji Egbema.
There was also Alhassan Nuhu, Director of Relief and Reconstruction at the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), who was there to meet with the minister.
They should speak out against illegal oil bunkering in their communities.
According to Farouq, the goal of today’s visit was to say sorry to the people of Imo and to figure out how big the disaster was in order to figure out how much money to give to the people who lost their homes.
She said there will be a lot of important disaster risk information, as well as risk measures, that the ministry will put out there to make people more aware of the dangers of illegal crude oil refining.
This was done to protect people, property, and the environment, according to Umar-Farouq, who added that disaster risk management was clearly a local and collaborative effort before it became national.
She said they should work together with security services to stop this terrible trend in its tracks.
In the aftermath of the blast, Dr. Princess Ibrahim said that most of the people who died were farmers and hunters. She is the Commissioner for Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management, and Social Development.
