Former Gov Boni Haruna withdraws from senatorial ambition

Former Governor of Adamawa, Boni Haruna, announced his withdrawal from the race for Senatorial seat for the Northern Zone of the state just days before the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) Primaries.

Boni declared his decision to withdraw from Senate aspirations in a press statement made available to journalists.
“I have decided to withdraw from the forthcoming PDP Senatorial primary election for Adamawa North. I thank all my supporters and well wishers who believed in the course I had set to pursue. Remain blessed,” According to the statement.
To a well wishers, Earl Gaddafi Hussainni,
“The decision of Boni Haruna to step down for the interest of the party in the state at large is commendable.
“For Justice, fairness and Equity in Adamawa Northern zone, the Michika/Madagali axis can’t have the Governor and also occupied the office of the senator of the same zone while the Mubi north, mubi south, and Maiha axis are the majority. His candidature may weaken the party in M3 zone.
“Balancing is paramount in a democracy”
While some his supporters alleged that this decision is coming not far from Governor Fintiri’s interest in other candidate rather than the former Governor.
Attempts to contact him for more information about his decision through this media were unsuccessful because his phone number was listed as unavailable.
