I told Buhari of threat to kidnap him by terrorists – El-rufai

The governor of Kaduna State, Mallam Nasir El-Rufai, claimed that President Muhammad Buhari was unaware that bandits were threatening to kidnap him.
In a viral video, the terrorists promised to apprehend Buhari and El-rufai on Sunday, July 24, 2022, after they had flogged the last 43 passengers from the Abuja-Kaduna train in the bush.
However, Governor El-rufai stated he had been cautioned to be careful while speaking on a radio programme on Wednesday night.
[quotation name=’Nasir El-Rufai’]I also heard about a video where they threatened to abduct Buhari and myself. I have been warned to be careful, including my families too.[/quotation]
He claimed that over the previous five years, he had argued in favour of bombing terrorists’ camps wherever they may be, adding that this was the only way to resolve the issue.
[quotation name=’Nasir El-Rufai’]This is why I met with the president on Sunday and told him about these problems.
“I also told him about the video because up to that day, he was not even aware. I told him and the following day, Zamfara State governor, Bello Matawalle also confirmed to him that he saw the video too, so as to take action.[/quotation]
El-Rufai claims that the President reassured him that he had a meeting with the service chiefs three to four days prior to the meeting and had given them a clear order to conduct a thorough military operation to deal with those individuals.
[quotation name=’Nasir El-Rufai’]We hope, God willing, the soldiers and the police that were given the directives will hasten up to finish the job, the Governor continued.
“We don’t have to wait until they (terrorists) strike before we respond.
“They (soldiers) must go after them wherever they are to deal with them. The truth is we are worried about the security situation, but we hope the federal government will do the right thing.[/quotation]
