Interswitch, a company that combines payments and digital commerce in Africa, says it plans to give information technology (IT) equipment to students at 10 tertiary schools in Nigeria as part of its efforts to promote STEM education.
Cisco and Interswitch are working together to make this program happen. Interswitch will donate IT equipment, like routers and switches, to the Cisco Networking Academies at these schools. This is part of the program.
Cherry Eromosele, Interswitch Group’s Group Chief Marketing and Communications Officer, spoke about the donation, saying that Interswitch has always been committed to boosting learning, particularly in STEM courses.
Eromosele said that studying STEM subjects isn’t easy, but going through the hard work of studying STEM subjects without simple tools like a computer can be scary.
Interswitch and Cisco are giving IT equipment to networking schools in the hope that more students will be able to improve their STEM skills and, as a result, get jobs in the field.
