Jukun Suspends Political Activities After 3- days Ultimatum issued Expires

The apex socio-cultural and political organization of the Jukun people, the Jukun Development Association of Nigeria (JDAN), has called for the immediate and indefinite suspension of all political programs and activities in Jukunland within 3 days until the new Aku Uka of Wukari His Royal Majesty Manu Ishaku Adda Ali Amatakhitswen is well-settled in the traditional palace of the Aku Uka in Wukari, which is where he has always been in charge.
Chief Bako Benjamin, the National President of the association, told reporters in Abuja that Governor Darius Ishaku’s continued disrespect for Jukun heritage and traditions cannot be tolerated and must be fought against and condemned by all true Jukuns.
Benjamin said that the Governor’s lack of respect for the Jukun’s highest traditional stool was shown by the fact that he didn’t pay a visit to the late Aku Uka Dr. Shekarau Angyu Masa Ibi Kuvyun when he passed away or to the new Aku Uka when he was installed and crowned.

President Benjamin said JDAN, as the protector and defender of all Jukun institutions in the world, must not keep quiet when Governor Darius Ishaku locked up the Aku Uka’s palace and put the keys in his pocket, and moved around with them.
He told all true Jukun sons and daughters to stand up as one and stop Governor Darius Ishaku from destroying the highest Jukun traditional institution in the land. This is to protect its honor, purity, and holiness.
The president said no campaign should be happening anywhere in Jukunland when our King, who should be in his traditional home performing necessary daily religious rites, is held up in the private residence of someone in Wukari for months and Jukun people are going about their activities as if everything is alright.
The countdown to the three-day deadline set for Taraba State Governor Architect Darius Ishaku to return the keys and open the Aku Uka palace will begin on Monday, May 9th, 2022, according to Benjamin.
He said that there will be a JDAN world press conference in Abuja that will be attended by 1,000 well-known Jukun sons and daughters from all over the country. After that, all political activities in Jukunland will be banned.
