Applications for the Korean Government Undergraduate Scholarship are now being accepted from students who meet the necessary requirements. All students who are sponsored by the Global Korea Scholarship are eligible to receive full funding for the scholarship (GKS).
About the Scholarship
Students from other countries who are interested in receiving their bachelor’s, master’s, or doctoral degrees from a Korean university may apply for financial assistance through the Korean Government Scholarship Program (KGSP).
The purpose of the fellowship is to encourage the growth of world leaders, to reinforce worldwide networks that are favorable toward Korea, and to provide students from other countries with the opportunity to pursue further education at educational institutions in Korea.

Requirements for Korean Government Undergraduate Scholarship
Citizenship: In order to be considered for a scholarship from the Korean government, candidates and their parents are required to be citizens of a country other than Korea.
Age: KGSP-G: under 40., KGSP-U: under 25.
Health: Candidates are required to be in good physical and mental health in order to continue their education in Korea.
Degree Requirements: (i) Bachelor’s or Master’s degree is required for KGSP-G (ii) KGSP-U: Completion of high school requirements.
Grades: It is required that the cumulative grade point average (CGPA) be at least 80% or higher, or the cumulative grade point average must be at least 2.64 out of 4.0, 2.80 out of 4.3, 2.91/ 4.5, or 3.23 out of 5.0.
Selection Process
Applications can be submitted to either the participating colleges in Korea or to any of the Korean Embassies located across the world.
The successful applicants are chosen from the pool of applications by the embassies and universities that are participating in the first round of the selection process. After that, the NIIED will be in possession of the applications submitted by the selected persons.
The NIIED selection committee will make its decisions based on the applicants who made it through the first round of voting.
The applications of persons who submitted them through the Korean Embassies will be reviewed by the universities. These individuals are counted among the successful candidates who advanced to the second round and passed it.
Candidates must first receive approval from at least one of the universities before they can be considered for admission.
