The Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lt. Gen. Faruk Yahaya, today gave Mr Adisa Babalola Rasaq a one-bedroom bungalow in celebrating the Nigerian Army Day, as part of the Army’s Corporate Social Responsibility, and in keeping with the goal of enhancing civil-military ties. The bungalow is located in Eleyele Ibadan’s Post Housing Development Limited’s 2nd phase.
The General Officer Commanding 2 Division NA, Maj Gen Gold Chibuisi, carried out the transfer on behalf of the Chief of Army Staff (COAS). He thanked the COAS for the thoughtful gesture and congratulated Mr Adisa Babalola Rasaq for his contributions to the army, particularly in the Supply and Transport office where he worked as a civilian staff member. Gen. Chibuisi prayed to God for health so he could stay in the mansion.
Mr Adisa Babalola Rasaq is a native of Odeda town in Ogun state’s Odeda Local Govt Area. From 1957 to 1995, he was a carpenter with the Nigerian Army Supply and Transport Unit Eleyele Ibadan. After his retirement, he moved into a run-down residence in an army building that was ultimately transferred to Post Housing Development Ltd. So Lt Gen Faruk Yahaya, the Chief of Army Staff, gave PHDL the order to construct a modest one-bedroom cottage for him so as not to expel him.
At the event, commanders, staff officers, and a representative of the managing director of Post Housing Development Ltd., as well as Mr Rasaq’s children and relatives, were present.
