Nigerian Idol: Zadok or Progress, Who Will Win On Sunday?

The path has now been established for the Season 7 winner of Nigerian Idol to be determined. On Sunday, Zadok and Progress will compete for the ultimate reward and title of Nigerian Idol champion for the final time on the show this season. Banty, the only girl standing in the competition, was eliminated from Nigerian Idol Season 7 last Sunday night after receiving the fewest votes. Zadok and Progress emerged as the top two Nigerian Idol contestants as a result of her exit.
Despite her elimination from the competition, the Warri native can look forward to a studio session with D’banj, according to the Kokomaster.
The host, IK Osakioduwa, announced before the night’s competition that the season had collected over 175 million votes, including 34 million for the upcoming week.
Ex-Nigerian Idol Season 7 participants launched the night of exhilarating performances with a mix of songs, followed by the top three finalists shortly after. Fela’s ‘Shakara’ and Wizkid’s ‘Ojuelegba’ were among the tunes they performed.
The top two finalists, Progress and Zadok, performed three rounds of songs, including their favorite, the judges’ favorite, and a final one with the 121 Selah choir, on the night of performances.
The Change Is Gonna Come by Sam Cooke was Progress’s first performance of the night, and he received a standing ovation from the audience and judges. With his rendition of Michael Bolton’s ‘When A Man Loves A Woman,’ Zadok amplified the atmosphere.
The following series of performances began with Progress performing Wizkid’s Joy, and his powerful vocals shone through.
Simi had selected another Michael Bolton song, and Zadok did justice to the iconic ‘Soul Provider.’ A female audience member gave him a flower for his vibrant performance. Progress and Zadok competed in the final round with their performances with the 121 Selah chorus. He performed Jon Ogah’s ‘Uncle Suru’ for Progress. The judges praised his performance and remarked on his progress since first appearing on the show.
Zadok finished the event with Timi Dakolo’s “Wish Me Well,” demonstrating why he deserved to be a finalist. The penultimate live event drew a star-studded audience, including Brandon Michael Hall of “God Friended Me,” Tarina Patel of “The Real Housewives of Johannesburg,” Bayo Akinfemi of “Bob Hearts Abisola,” and Kamil Olufowobi, CEO of MIPAD.
On Sunday, the Nigerian Idol Season 7 grand finale will be telecast, and the fans will have sole authority over the winner. Bigi Drinks and Binance Africa are the sponsors of Nigerian Idol Season 7.
