Nnamdi Kanu’s Tweets Have Been Removed from Twitter

Twitter, the world’s largest microblogging site, has purportedly removed tweets by Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, the Supreme Leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, for breaking the bird app’s guidelines.

The message, which was placed on Kanu’s Twitter profile on June 2, according to media reports, was no longer available as of Saturday evening.

According to reports, the tweet was issued in response to the federal government’s decision to intervene in attacks on security formations in the southeast, which have resulted in the deaths of a number of security personnel.

According to reports, Kanu threatened government officials in the tweet, saying, ‘Any army they send to #Biafraland will die there. Even if it means sacrificing my people, none of them will return alive.”

This newest event came after the Federal  Government of Nigeria, through the Minister of Information and Culture, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, declared a suspension.

Lai Mohammed, who announced the indefinite suspension of Twitter in Nigeria, claimed that the social media networking site was instigating violence and spreading fake news in the country, charges that many Nigerians have long denied and the suspension extensively criticized by the world community.
