Umar Mustapha, alias Otumba of Ekiti, who lost in the All Progressive Party (APC) primary election in Adamawa, has now joined the Peoples Republican Party (PRP) without officially leaving the All Progressive Party, APC.
It has been revealed that the desperate politician allegedly went to the PRP’s headquarters in Abuja and paid money to get a nomination form and a membership card, even though the party’s rules said he had to meet with the ward chairman to sign up as a member.
It may be recalled that in the recently concluded APC primaries in Adamawa, Mr. Umar Mustapha was one of the aspirants who was defeated by a landslide victory by Sen. Aishatu Binani Dahiru, a female engineer.
The Serving Adamawa Central’s Senator, won Adamawa APC Gubernatorial primaries after defeating former Governor Muhammed Umar Jibrilla Bindow, former EFCC Boss Nuhu Ribadu and 3 others.
Aishatu Dahiru Binani – 430
Nuhu Ribadu – 288
Muhammed Jibrilla Bindow – 103
Abdulrazaq Namdas – 94
Umar Madaki Otumba – 39
Wafarnyi Theman – 21
Mr. Umar Mustapha, who allegedly knows that the PRP National Headquarters only cares about money, doubled the fee for nomination forms to help himself.

Our source also told us that Mr. Umar did not properly register his resignation with the All Progressive Congress, either publicly or in writing to his ward. This is said to be against the newly signed amendment to the Electoral Act of 2022, which says that a resignation must be registered with the party.
Another source told us that Mr. Umar, who is allegedly used to playing politics for money, is trying very hard to meet with the People’s Redemption Party State Delegates in order to get the party’s nomination.
The PRP’s National Headquarters, which has also been accused of being influenced by the desperate money politician, has set a deadline of 48 hours before the primary election to screen him. This is another violation of the party’s founding principles.
