Otumba Sad Over Incessant Kidnappings and Killings of innocent citizens

Governorship Flagbearer, Umar Mustapha Madawaki of the Labour Party, LP, in Adamawa state also referred to as the Otumba of Ekiti has noted that injustice is the root of insecurity in both the state and the nation. He was disenchanted by the ongoing kidnappings and killings of innocent people and struggles to make ends meet.
Otumba Thursdays expressed his displeasure while expressing condolences to the Reverend Daniel Umaru family of the EYN Church Njairi in Mubi Local Government Area, Northern Senatorial District of Adamawa State.
The Reverend’s home was attacked by armed men, which led to the deaths of two family members (his boys) and the wounding of the Reverend.
Otumba has urged the federal and state governments to invest in security and justice in order to save the populace.
Inequality before the law results from a lack of justice, which calls into question the rule of law. As a result, criminals turn to enforce their own laws by killing innocent people in the name of retaliation.
“With injustice lies insecurity, with insecurity there cannot be any progress and development; farmlands would be abandoned, business areas would be deserted and worship places would be ignored, defining a Savage, Godless society in which only the fittest would survive.
“There is the need to review the system, inject the feeling of humanity with empathy and engage the restive youth in skills acquisition for self-development in addition to other social welfare schemes for women empowerment, Otumba noted.
Otumba bemoaned the closure of public universities brought on by staff industrial actions, insisting that education must be a top priority in order to stop banditry and related criminality in its tracks.
It is said that students are languishing at home when public universities have been shuttered for almost a semester and counting, according to the Governorship hopeful, explaining that the long-term educational health of the nation is negatively impacted by this.
“An idle mind is the devil’s playground”, he revealed.
Otumba called out that Something must be done, and it must be done quickly, to save education, and by extension, the future of the nation, from ruin.
