Peter Obi To Choose A Northern Muslim As Vice-President! Guess Who?

The Labour Party (LP) has stated that it will not compromise the ideal of social-religious inclusion by settling for a Christian Christian ticket, as proposed by other parties, for her presidential campaign in 2023 where a Christian, Peter Obi is their bearer.
Barr. Julius Abure, Chairman of the Labour Party, stated this in Abuja on Monday at a commemoration of Democracy Day.
He stated that the party will not change the principles of federal character in its selection of a Vice Presidential candidate to run with the Labour Party for the sake of fairness, equity, and inclusion.
Abure, who stated that the choice is in the hands of Presidential candidate Peter Obi, insisted that the Labour Party, which represents Nigerian workers, would not compromise on the diversity of the Nigerian workforce and membership.
“While I want to say that it may be too premature for me to speak, and the constitution also gives the Presidential candidate the right to nominate his Vice Presidential Candidate, I feel it would be more proper for the presidential candidate to answer.
“However, I want to assure you that as a party that is reasonable; as a party that believes in equity and justice; as a party that believes in social justice and equal opportunity for all, a vice-presidential candidate that is widely accepted, with powerful credentials, is most likely going to come from the Northern region, there is no doubt about that.”
Recall that Mr. Peter Obi, the former governor of Anambra, was voted unopposed as the Labour Party’s (LP) presidential candidate for the 2023 general elections on March 30th.
In a presidential primary poll held on Monday in Asaba, Delta, Obi emerged victorious after all other candidates stood down for him and the party’s interests.
According to Usman Abdullahi, Chairman of the Electoral Committee, five presidential candidates have been approved to run in the election.
A total of 104 delegates from 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) were accredited for the election, according to Abdullahi.
However, in the course of the election, presidential hopefuls Prof. Pat Utomi, Mr. Joseph Faduri, and Mrs. Olubusola Emmanuel-Tella stepped down, while Mr. Charles Uchenna withdrew.
Obi received a total of 96 votes at the end of the voting, securing the party’s general election ticket.

When Abdullahi announced the results, he declared Obi the winner and the LP’s presidential candidate for the 2023 general election after Obi received 96 votes out of 97 legitimate votes, with one invalid vote.
The process, he said, was “free, fair, transparent, and credible.”
In his victory speech, Obi stated that the country was in desperate need of effective leadership capable of transforming the country from a consumer to a producer.
The best way to combat insecurity, he believes, is to lift people out of poverty.
If he is elected president, he has stated that education, energy generation, and the economy will be his top priorities.
Obi stated that the route to the presidency has begun now that he has earned the presidential nomination.
He stated that he will mobilize to garner votes from every corner of the country in order to win the president.
