Babagana Zulum, the governor of Borno State, declared on Sunday that President Muhammadu Buhari’s chosen nominee would receive the APC presidential ticket for the 2023 election.
When Rotimi Ameachi’s campaign team, led by Director-General Ali Ndume, met with APC delegates in the state, the governor said this.
Borno State, he said, has not settled on a candidate and will choose one depending on the President’s preferences and the delegates’ convictions.
“Borno State delegates will vote based on their conscience,” Zulum remarked.
“But again, our leader, President Muhammadu Buhari, is very important in this political equation. We are still waiting for him to tell us what to do and we will follow. His advice is very important so we have to wait for his advice”
Zulum urged that Nigerians should pray for a good candidate to emerge, regardless of tribe, region, or ethnic background, who would ensure that the APC forms the federal government in 2023.
