Applications for the RTP Stipend Scholarship are now being accepted from eligible students. It is an all-inclusive scholarship available to all students supported by Griffith University.

International students are encouraged to apply for the Australian Government RTP Scholarship in order to study at the University of Sydney in Australia. Scholarships are available in any of the three annual rounds. The Australian Government RTP Postgraduate research scholarships are open to applications at the University of Sydney.

The Research Training Program (RTP) scholarships, which are funded by the Australian government and worth up to $124,000, provide a tuition fee offset and a living stipend to international postgraduate students of superior caliber.

Avout the Scholarship

The RTP offers HEPs with annual block funding to support local and international students pursuing Research Doctorate and Research Masters degrees, sometimes known as higher degrees by research (HDRs).

The objectives of the RTP scheme are to: provide flexible funding arrangements to support the training of domestic and international students undertaking HDRs at Australian HEPs; equip graduates with the skills necessary to pursue careers in academia and other sectors of the labor market, and facilitate collaboration between HEPs and industry.

Benefits of RTP Stipend Scholarship

The annual value of RTP scholarships is $35,629 per year. The RTP International Scholarship helps with health insurance, tuition, and living expenses.

Qualifications for the Scholarship

To be eligible, you must;

  • Be an overseas postgraduate student beginning or enrolled in research
  • Possess an exceptional record of academic accomplishment and research potential.
  • Have an unconditional offer of admission or be enrolled in a research masters or doctoral program at the University of Sydney.
  • Note: Applicants who are pursuing their first doctoral degree will be given priority for Research Training Program Scholarships.

How to Apply

Scholarships for the RTP are awarded in November, February, and June. Therefore, you must submit the needed admission application papers and Research Experience evidence (if applicable) to be considered for an award within the relevant timescales.

When applying for admission to a postgraduate research degree, incoming students must tick the checkbox to be considered for research scholarships.
