According to information obtained by our correspondent, the tragedy occurred on Sunday when the victims were returning to their village in Otulu, Oru East Local Government Area when the gunmen started shooting at them.
Nnamdi Agbor, the president general of the Otulu community, informed reporters that seven people perished instantly, while others were still missing.
The local authority stated that the victims were travelling home when the security men started shooting at them.
As they were riding home on motorcycles, Ebubeagu agents spotted them and started firing. We have found seven dead bodies of our people while I speak to you.

He claimed that the 34 artillery Brigade Command commander Obinze and the Commissioner of Police had both been to the location.
