Security Personnel Kill 7 Wedding Attendees In Imo

The news that gunmen believed to be members of the Ebubeagu Security organization had allegedly murdered seven wedding guests in the town of Awomama, Oru West Local Government Area of Imo State, sparked outrage on Monday.

According to information obtained by our correspondent, the tragedy occurred on Sunday when the victims were returning to their village in Otulu, Oru East Local Government Area when the gunmen started shooting at them.

Nnamdi Agbor, the president general of the Otulu community, informed reporters that seven people perished instantly, while others were still missing.

The local authority stated that the victims were travelling home when the security men started shooting at them.

As they were riding home on motorcycles, Ebubeagu agents spotted them and started firing. We have found seven dead bodies of our people while I speak to you.

“As they were going home Ebubeagu operatives saw them in motorcycles and opened fire on them. As I speak to you, we have recovered seven dead bodies who are our people.

“The monarch said that five are missing, while two are critically injured.”

The monarch reported that two people are gravely injured and five people are missing.

He claimed that the 34 artillery Brigade Command commander Obinze and the Commissioner of Police had both been to the location.

CSP Mike Abattam, the police public relations officer, confirmed the occurrence.

He declared that the incident was the subject of a police investigation.
