Adeyemi, who is just 23, landed a high-profile publishing contract for her debut book, which remained at No. 1 on the New York Times bestseller list for 25 weeks. The first book in the Legacy of Orsha series, Children of Blood and Bone, won the Andre Norton Nebula Award for Young Adult Science Fiction as well as the Hugo Lodestar Award for Best Young Adult Book.
Adeyemi, who earned an honors degree in English literature from Harvard University, was recently named one of TIME magazine’s 100 Most Influential People and one of Forbes’ 2020 30 Under 30 in Media.
