The remake of ‘Aki and Pawpaw’ to Hit theaters on December 17th

The Nigerian film studio Filmone Entertainment has announced that the much-anticipated ‘Aki and Pawpaw’ adaptation would be released in theaters this December.

On Wednesday, the corporation announced the news in a post on its verified Instagram page.

Chinedu Ikedieze and Osita Iheme will reprise their roles as the amusing brothers Aki and Pawpaw in the film.

The reboot’s director, Biodun Stephen, has been named, and the debut date has been set for December 17.

“They came into our lives 19 years ago; our resident Nollywood troublemakers remain the gift that never stopped giving! From Alaba to the big screens, your favourite duo redefine comedy in this holiday blockbuster Aki and PawPaw The Movie in cinemas from December 17th! Save the date. A Play Network Studios and Film One Entertainment Production. Director: Biodun Stephen,” the post read.

Toyin Abraham, Amaechi Muonagor, Anita Asuoha (Real Warri Pikin), Uti Nwachukwu, Stan Nze, MC Lively, Beverly Osu, Juliet Ibrahim, Hanks Anuku, and Chioma Okafor are among the other cast members.

The remake of the flicks was initially disclosed in May, when
Ikedieze and Iheme discussed dropping the new project on Instagram.

Fans were ecstatic as they awaited the return of the renowned duet to their screens after a decade and a half.
