Tinubu Picks Kashim Shettima as running mate for 2023 election

Former Borno State Governor Kashim Shettima has previously been named as Bola Tinubu, the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential candidate, running mate.
After a meeting behind closed doors with President Muhammadu Buhari on Sunday in Daura, Katsina State, Tinubu personally revealed this.
The APC candidate went to Daura, where the president is taking a Sallah break, to introduce the President to his running mate.
Kashim Shettima has backed Tinubu in the media. Shettima had urged President Muhammadu Buhari and the APC to view Tinubu’s bid for the presidency as payback for the work he performed to help the party win power in 2015.
At a conference held in Abuja by the Support Groups Management Council (SGMC) for Tinubu, Shettima provided the indication. He claimed that the Asiwaju of Lagos was responsible for Buhari’s election as the APC’s presidential candidate.
Asiwaju and his progressive team, he added, stood firmly behind the nominee of President Muhammadu Buhari in 2015, while other aspirants with a very large war chest were itching to cling to the ticket of the APC.
The senator who represents Borno Central in the Senate inquired as to the whereabouts of the newly baptized adherents of what he referred to as “The Buhari’s Church of Latter Days Saints,” claiming that they had not pledged their political allegiance to the President at that specific convention.
He has stated that for the sake of equity, justice, and fairness, the South should assume power in 2023, and Tinubu should be granted the first refusal because, more than anybody else, he has provided the most for the APC.
