Trump Calls Jack Smith who is Investigating Him a ‘Terrorist’

As part of his ongoing criticism of the federal prosecutor in charge of the criminal investigation into the former president’s use of sensitive materials, Special Counsel Jack Smith has been branded a “terrorist” by Donald Trump.

In a Thursday appearance on The Mark Levin Show, Trump urged Smith to resign and put an end to his investigation into claims that the former president handled top-secret materials discovered at his Mar-a-Lago estate improperly and attempted to thwart federal efforts to recover them.

Trump claimed that the wife of Jack Smith, Katy Chevigny, who served as producer on the Michelle Obama documentary Becoming and donated twice to Joe Biden’s 2020 campaign, “hates” him and is friends with Andrew Weissmann, who worked on special counsel Robert Mueller’s Russia investigation. Trump claimed that this creates a conflict between the two.

Trump stated, “The prosecutor (Jack Smith)should resign, he’s got a conflict.”

“He is a terrorist. He is a Trump hater. His best friends are Weissmann and all of these characters, Lisa Monaco at the Justice Department, one of the top officials. This is a disgraceful situation. He should resign!

“His wife hates Trump, probably even beyond him. And his wife has a sister who openly hates like a level that you can’t even believe.”

Following the appointment of special counsel Richard Hur to lead an investigation into the discovery of secret documents from Biden’s tenure as vice president at a think tank office in Washington, D.C., and in a garage at Biden’s home in Wilmington, Delaware, Attorney General Merrick Garland appointed Hur to the position. This was when Trump made the comments.

Later, once counsel Richard Sauber confirmed that none of the papers were being sought by the government, Biden’s attorneys turned over the documents to the National Archives, unlike in Trump’s case.
