UK’s SteamaCo plans to combat energy theft in Nigeria.

A UK-based energy company called SteamaCo has said that it is ready to deal with power theft and other problems in Nigeria’s power sector.
Tom Parkinson, the company’s Managing Director, said this in an Abuja statement on Saturday.
According to Parkinson, the company assists energy distribution utilities in emerging economies in meeting their aggregated technical, commercial, and collection loss targets while also increasing revenue.
SteamaCo’s cloud-based IoT Advanced Metering Infrastructure product, according to him, gives your utility the greatest means to detect and resolve theft quickly so you can meet your ATC & C losses targets.
According to Parkinson, SteamaCo interfaces effortlessly with your distribution network and smart meters, capturing and analyzing data 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to detect meter bypass, meter tampering, and unlawful connections.
He also highlighted that the platform is simple to integrate with the utility’s other enterprise systems. Utilities may make the most of their smart meter investment by gaining comprehensive insight into both their distribution operations and their customers.
SteamaCo is intended to let utilities operate in previously unreachable areas, as well as run and collect income from their distribution networks remotely and automatically.
Parkinson says that consumers can be sure that their energy supply will be more stable and that they will be kept up to date about their energy service.
According to the statement, SteamaCo also assists utilities by determining the location of energy theft when it occurs.
It also tells the utility’s field staff right away, who will look into the problem, fix it, and report back as soon as possible.
Your utility may reach ATC & C loss targets faster and earn more income with speedier theft detection and resolution, according to Roberts.
He emphasized that this will assist African countries in overcoming a variety of electrical and power difficulties.
He went on to say that it will allow them to provide a more reliable and profitable energy supply to their clients while also ensuring revenue.
Michael Nwachukwu, the company’s Business Development Manager in Nigeria, also stated that the company is already operating in the country as a partner to existing electricity companies.
