VIDEO: CCT chairman Danladi Umar assaults Abuja mall security staff

Chairman of the Code of Conduct Tribunal (CCT), Danladi Umar, has publicly assaulted a security guard in Wuse, Abuja.

An eyewitness from one of the mall’s buildings caught the incident on camera.

Although the reason for the attack is unclear, Umar appeared enraged.

One of the CCT chairman’s police escorts was seen on camera begging him to calm down.

However,
the Nigerian jurist continued to point and yell at the unidentified
civilian, prompting a physical attack on security personnel by an
unidentified mall employee dressed in native garb.

The CCT boss and another employee of the plaza told the assaulted woman to kneel and apologize, which she did.

However, Umar was seen in the video seconds later running towards him and kicking him.

Bystanders
were also seen shouting and throwing objects at Umar, as one of the
bystanders, seemingly fed up with the power display, jogged around
Umar’s SUV, daring him and the escort squad.

Following the incident, Umar is said to have lodged a complaint with the Maitama Police Station.

However, after seeing the video, the Divisional Police Officer ordered the security guard’s release.

Umar will be brought to court, according to Ihensekhien Samuel, a lawyer.
