Augustine Azuka Okocha, better known as Austin Jay Jay Okocha, a Nigerian football legend, has been chastised by a Nigerian pastor, Patrick-Grace Henry, for endorsing a sports betting business.
Pastor Henry of the Grace Family Outreach chastised the former Super Eagles midfielder for agreeing to be the face of a betting firm after working hard to reach the top.
The bid, according to the man of God, was a blot on Okocha’s good name that he had built up over the years.
Pastor Patrick-Grace Henry referred to Jay-Jay Okocha as a major embarrassment and a shameless model to those who looked up at him during one of his sermons.
He did say, however, that he hopes the letter reaches the footballer so that he reconsiders his decision.
