I got an invite to an event in Imo States Owerri. It came time for the celebrant to cut the cake while I was finishing up. I asked everyone to take pictures after She cut the cake.

They arrived in groups, and while they were taking pictures, we moved aside to allow others to do the same.

After snapping a few sets of photos, a group of young males approached the celebrant and started talking. The only thing I did with them was ask them to move aside so that others may continue with the photo part. That was all.
“The sequence of events that ensued began with a warning: ‘Would you like something to happen to you in this Owerri?’ It wasn’t appropriate. My only responsibility as a Mc is to ensure that everything went off without a hitch.

“I moved aside when I saw he was inciting a fight based on his reaction.

These young males appeared to be eager for a fight.

As they were leaving, they shoved me. Without changing a word.

I was not trained to get into fights with people at an event like that in my professional training.

While I was occupied tending to another guest, I was ambushed from behind by one of them.

Other attendees were taken, restrained, and removed from the gathering.
I am aware that these are dangerous times, but I will find them and I will get justice.

  1. Thank heavens for the prompt arrival of the DSS officers and director of Imo State who arrived to take me back to my hotel following the occurrence.

“Nobody knows what their plans were or what might have transpired, but I’ll let the cops handle this; I’ll obtain justice no matter what. I don’t look for trouble, but if someone were to attack me for no other reason than that I was doing my work, I would absolutely face consequences.
