YHC: 16 Social Innovators Go Home with 500K Each in Adamawa

Social Innovators | Yola: When used effectively, technology has the potential to significantly boost your businesses’ success. In many circumstances, using technology is simply a natural extension of the procedures you already have in place. Others, on the other hand, may require changes in order to maximize the benefits of business technology.
The British Council and the Northeast Humanitarian Innovation Hub awarded 16 Adamawa youngsters a total of 500 Naira (N500, 000) apiece to develop their innovative ideas that either confront insecurity through their organized project; Youth Hack Challenge (YHC).

The Humanitarian Innovation Hub is a social innovation center that highlights the potential of collaboration and community participation from concept to implementation.
The ability of the Innovators to solve societal challenges with a “out-of-the-box” approach inspired by human-centered design thinking is what sets them apart as a social impact-driven innovation environment.
According to Mary Igbazua, Project Lead at Humanitarian Innovation Foundation, the “Idea pitch for the youth Hack challenge” is a program supported by the British Council and the MCN as part of the managing conflict in Nigeria fund, which is looking for new ways to address security concerns in Adamawa State.

The “out-of-the-box” approach is to create an ecosystem of young people who are passionate about community development, entrepreneurship, security, and advocating peace.
The project has given young people the skills, experience, and opportunities they need to be self-sufficient, connect with the market, and establish and build successful businesses.
